We meet Fridays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the church
We call our youth ministry program “Impact,” because its purpose is to impact the lives of our young people to live better and more faithful lives.
We gather on Friday afternoons at 3:30, have snacks, games and a lesson led by Pastor Ken. Sarah Stretton is our Impact leader, and she does a fantastic job. One popular component of our meetings is the opportunity to share the good and bad things that have happened during our week. It’s a chance to open up, to show support for one another, and to build a strong community.
We also sponsor fun outings like beach cookouts, pizza parties, roller skating at Goombayland, scavenger hunts at Port Lucaya, lock-ins at the church and more. All local youth are invited and encouraged to come.
Impact has a ministry component as well. The kids have several opportunities to help others. They raise funds and awareness of global hunger by participating in the 30-Hour famine with World Vision. They help pack and deliver food boxes with our Crossreach ministry. They help with church fundraisers like our annual Coffee Morning and Christmas tree sales. These activities even help them earn community service hours required in their various schools.
