Our Beliefs

In Summary

Our beliefs are grounded entirely in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament. (For brief history of the Bible with music, click HERE.) We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. His is where we find God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We Believe

…in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

…that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

…that our human natures are corrupted by sin (by thought, word and deed). As a result, we are by nature displeasing to God and separated from His love and eternal life with Him. We are unable to save ourselves from God’s displeasure.

…that it is Jesus Christ alone, the eternal Son of God, by His perfect life, sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary, atoned for the sins of all who trust in Him alone, for salvation.

…that the Holy Spirit indwells all who have faith in Christ. It is God the Holy Spirit who opens dead hearts to faith, illumines God’s Word for understanding and enables transformation of lives.

…that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

Historical Statements of Faith

Our understanding of the Scriptures has been articulated well in the main historical Creeds of the Christian Church (The Apostle's CreedThe Nicene Creed etc). Because of our distinctive Presbyterian history, The Westminster Confession Of Faith remains the doctrinal framework of our congregation and denomination.
